Estes Park Spring Wedding

Estes-Park-Spring-Wedding-2Estes Park Spring Wedding – Madison & Shawn

Wild Basin Lodge is a beautiful venue for a wedding. It is nestled in the Rocky Mountains and sits right next to the Saint Vrain River. It’s surrounded by lush forest and has a stunning view of Mount Meeker. They have two breathtaking ceremony options… One is in a meadow and the other an amphitheater by the river. Each is gorgeous in its own way!

Madison and Shawn chose to say their i do’s in the lovely meadow surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a beautiful sunny spring day.

While everyone turns to see the beautiful bride as she walks down the aisle I love to grab a glimpse of the groom…

What a precious moment when Madison’s mom wiped a tear from her face right before the ceremony began. Their ceremony was full of so much joy!

words from the bride

How did you meet?

Shawn and I met through mutual friends at Mile Marker Brewery in Florida. Our friends all had a get together and invited us both so we could meet.

How did you get engaged?

Shawn proposed at home on the anniversary of the day we met. It was very special and intimate. The engagement ring he gave me had a pearl from Hawaii on it that I have had since I was a child.

Anything about your love story you want to share?

Shawn is a firefighter for St. Johns County. I feel like this is a huge part of our love story because it is comparable to being with someone in the army. He is gone for 24 hours at a time for his work shifts. It is worth every minute of it! Shawn has a daughter named Chloe who is a HUGE part of our life as well. I love her so much and could not imagine our lives with out her. We are very close to nature and love going on adventures as a family. We take advantage of every opportunity to get out of the house for a weekend and go on small trips.

What made you choose the Rocky Mountains and Wild Basin Lodge to host your wedding?

We chose RMNP for our wedding because it is the perfect visual description of what Colorado is all about. I was born and raised in Colorado and I could not imagine getting married anywhere else. Shawn also shares the same love for the mountains.

Did you enjoy wedding planning? Favorite parts.. Less favorable parts?

I really enjoyed wedding planning for the most part once I was able to pick out the colors and theme. I changed my mind many times which made bridesmaid dresses and flowers hard to pick out. My favorite part of wedding planning was making DIY decorations and my least favorite part was the pre-wedding nightmares in fear of something going wrong with the ceremony. I knew it would be perfect no matter what though. 🙂

Honeymoon plans?

Our honeymoon plans are a houseboat on Lake Powell and road tripping Colorado.

Any specific details/parts to your day that meant the most to you?

The part of our day that meant the absolute most to me was our love letters to each other. It was such and amazing feeling giving and receiving such amazing words of love.
