Estes Park Resort Wedding – Mara & Raji

Estes-Park-Resort-Wedding-4Estes Park Resort Wedding – Mara & Raji

I love the first look that a bride and groom share on their wedding day. Whether that is a moment they share before the ceremony or if it’s when the bride walks down the aisle towards her groom… This moment is one of my very favorite moments of the entire day! It is such a special time! They have spent many hours (especially the bride) planning every single detail of this day and a lot of it has to do with the attire they have chosen (dress, suit, hair, make up…) and then it comes down to this one moment of anticipation. I simply love the raw emotion and joy that they share in those few minutes…

Mara and Raji were amazing to work with! Their wedding was a blast… They were surrounded by so much love and joy!

The few moments it took Mara and her parents to walk down the aisle were magical. I love the joy that is beaming from each of them as they share in such a wonderful part of a wedding day!

When I do a first look with a couple before the ceremony – I always love spending a few more moments following the ceremony with them alone! Gosh! That view of Lake Estes and The Rockies is breathtaking!

Some words from the bride…

How did you and Raji meet?

We first met in Abu Dhabi in 2007.  Our friend Dan Trapp introduced us, and we quickly discovered a shared love of long conversations and cups of coffee.  I left the UAE to work in China, and Raji moved to Houston.  We met up again in Washington, DC in 2011.  This time around, there was more to share than conversations…a little spark. Many phone calls later, we decided to meet up in Colorado in December of 2012.  Maybe it was the magic of Colorado air, but something had changed, and we both knew our friendship had blossomed into love.  We’ve now celebrated several years of loving each other, through many airplane rides, late night phone calls, and wonderful trips.  We are now happily together in Houston, Texas.
How did we get engaged?
Raji asked me to marry him in September of 2014.  We went out to dinner in the Highlands in Denver, and then on our way home, Raji thought we should stop for a walk in the park.  Raji led me to a picnic table, where he got on one knee — wet grass and all — and asked me to marry him.  I said yes, of course.
What made you choose Estes Park for your wedding?
Raji and I knew we wanted to have a wedding in the mountains in Colorado, but we also knew that many of our friends and family would be making long trips to get there.  Estes Park was perfect – not only is it easy to get there, but it has a lot of great memories for my family.  The Estes Park Resort was a great choice for the size of our wedding – plenty of room but also beautiful scenery.
