I love photographing small weddings. There is something so wonderful about having a handful of your favorite people surround you while you promise your life to your best friend. Continue reading “Black Canyon Inn Spring Wedding”

I was so excited to finally meet Erica and Ryan! I had been chatting with Erica for awhile about their wedding (which is going to be amazing!) and I was stoked for their engagement shoot! We met at Lake Dillon and had an amazing time wandering around taking photos. These two were so full of joy and laughter that it made my job quite easy! Wild Basin Lodge is a beautiful venue for a wedding. It is nestled in the Rocky Mountains and sits right next to the Saint Vrain River. It’s surrounded by lush forest and has a stunning view of Mount Meeker. They have two breathtaking ceremony options… One is in a meadow and the other an amphitheater by the river. Each is gorgeous in its own way!
Madison and Shawn chose to say their i do’s in the lovely meadow surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a beautiful sunny spring day. Continue reading “Estes Park Spring Wedding”
I am often asked by couples when I would recommend they have their wedding ceremony. So, I thought I would share my answer here to hopefully be helpful to more couples planning their big day! Continue reading “Sun-kissed Wedding – When is the best time to have your wedding ceremony?”
I had been looking forward to Madison and Scotty’s wedding for over a year! If you remember my post from last year of their engagement session, you’ll know what an amazing couple these two are! They are two very genuine and kindhearted people that I find it a true honor to have met them and been apart of capturing their precious wedding day!

I had just written a blog post about why I think it is important to have someone photograph your proposal. It is such a magical moment that is consumed with raw emotion and I truly believe it deserves to be documented!!
It’s funny how things work out… The day after I posted my thoughts on proposal photography, I received an email from Tyler requesting just that! He had plans to propose to his girlfriend, Brittany and wanted to have the moment photographed. I was SO excited to get his email.. Just the thought of shooting a proposal makes me giddy! While I truly love everything about wedding photography and being able to document such a special occasion for my clients… There is nothing quite like shooting a proposal. I have only done a handful of these and each time I love them more and more! It is not a thought out moment for the one being proposed to. They haven’t thought ahead of what their reaction and expressions will be. Sure, they can imagine that they would say yes and be excited, but there is no rehearsing or daydreaming that can compare to that one single moment. The moment the question is asked it, the response is raw wave of emotion and I absolutely love it!
Della Terra Mountain Chateau – wedding photography
I have the joyful pleasure of living in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful locations in the world (in my humble opinion!) I have been many different places all over the world and out of everywhere I have seen, Colorado remains one of the most awe inspiring! I LOVE being able to go to “work” in such stunning locations all over this gorgeous state! One of my very favorite venues in Colorado is the Della Terra Mountain Chateau! It is absolutely stunning! The chateau is nestled in the quaint small town of Estes Park just a short drive from one of the entrances into Rocky Mountain National Park.
Not only is the venue stunning, but it is owned by the most amazing individuals! They employee some of the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with! I always feel like family the second I walk through the door!
There isn’t a right answer to the question of whether or not you should hire someone to photograph your proposal. Everyone is different and it is completely personal preference!!
I personally LOVE photographing proposals. They are one of the most romantic experiences! I find myself getting giddy and excited for them while I am hiding somewhere off in the distance waiting for that perfect moment!
There is one proposal that has always stuck out and that is Austin and Mckenna! Austin had contacted me shortly before he and Mckenna had a road trip out to Colorado planned. He was going to propose to her during their stay at Della Terra Mountain Chateau. What an absolutely breathtaking location!!! Mckenna was in tears and the joy on her face was incredible! Then Austin pointed over to me to show Mckenna that the whole thing had been photographed and her expression summed up why I love photographing people during the most joyous moments of their lives!
*Erica & Josh* winter engagement session
There is something truly magical about a winter engagement session! Especially in the Rocky Mountains!! I am constantly in awe of the stunning beauty that makes up Colorado. Growing up I remember sarcastically thinking that I couldn’t wait to move away because there was absolutely nothing to do… at all!! What a dumb dumb I was! The more I travel the world the more I fall in love with Colorado, my home!
I love shooting in every season of the year. Especially in Colorado because we have such a variety of seasons at any given time! There is something incredibly unique about shooting outside in the winter! The air has a crispness about it and the fresh smell is enchanting!
Lily Lake was absolutely gorgeous for Erica and Josh’s winter engagement session!
