I had been looking forward to Madison and Scotty’s wedding for over a year! If you remember my post from last year of their engagement session, you’ll know what an amazing couple these two are! They are two very genuine and kindhearted people that I find it a true honor to have met them and been apart of capturing their precious wedding day!

An amazing couple + Wild Basin Lodge + fall wedding… I was in heaven!!!

When I showed up Madison greeted me with a big hug and a smile! She is such a joyful gal and I am so glad we have had the change to get to know each other a bit over the last year!

Madison and Scotty had a private first look before their wedding ceremony surrounded by glistening yellow aspens… It was magical, to say the least.

Madison and Scotty’s first dance song was the absolutely precious song from The Wedding Singer that Adam Sandler sang to Drew Berrymore at the end of the movie when he catches up to her on the airplane. This is one of my favorite movies and when I heard the song start to play, my heart melted!

I wanna make you smile,
Whenever you’re sad.
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad.
All I wanna do,
Is grow old with you.

I’ll get you medicine,
When your tummy aches.
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks.
Oh it could be so nice,
Growin’ old with you.

I’ll miss you, kiss you,
Give you my coat when you are cold.
Need you, feed you.
Even let you hold the remote control.
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink.
Put you to bed when you’ve had too much to drink.
Oh I could be the man,
Who grows old with you.

I wanna grow old with you.

Best first dance song, EVER!

Madison + Scotty… CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Some words from Madison…

How did you and Scotty meet?
I was working in downtown San Antonio on the River Walk (we are both born and raised Texans) at a restaurant and bar when Scotty came in to say hi to his old managers. We caught each others eye immediately but didn’t say anything to one another and that was that. About a week later to my surprise he was working at the same restaurant with me. My best friend (and bridesmaid) played match maker, I asked her about him and he asked her about me. Scotty later told me he asked the manager to schedule us the same shifts so he could get to know me. The rest is pretty much history!
How did you get engaged?
We dont have the typical amazing engagement story but it is still special to me. On December 14, 2013 he took me out shopping, like most men this is not his ideal day, we went to Cherry Creek and then to the Cherry Cricket (one of my favorite restaurants). When we were there they had this amazing pumpkin pie martini so I had one of course. But Scotty kept trying to get me to have another in hindsight I think this was his way of calming his nerves if I wasn’t 100% sober. 🙂  As we were leaving he said he wanted to take me to look at Christmas lights in a neighborhood that is known for having really beautiful displays. <–Another one of my favorite things to do! However it was still a few hours away from being dark so he offered to take me to park meadows, and of course I didn’t say no.
Fast forward to us driving around looking at lights. He is speeding past all of them, while I keep saying slow down I really want to look! We finally come to this lone tree that you can see from the road , no houses around it just a tree all covered in lights. -By this time its pretty cold outside- Scotty says “you want to get out and look at it?” I say “No, its too cold.” Immediately he panics and says “Ugh fine” so trying to diffuse the situation I say “Babe just pull over we can go look at it.” He says “No! Its fine!” and we go home. I was so confused why he was acting to weird but tried not to think anything of it. We go upstairs to our apartment and in our kitchen he turns the lights off and gets on one knee! He hands me what looks to be like a present, I open it and its glowing with lights he has put inside and in the middle an engagement ring! It was perfect 🙂 Needless to say he planned on asking me underneath the tree but panicked when I said it was too cold! Haha
Any details about your love story you want to share?
Our love story was not like the movies. We had our ups and downs but I think was is great about us is that we can laugh together. So many tough things have happened in the past like loosing family members or friends but we were each others best friends and always there for each other. Also we moved to Colorado with nothing! We both had a dream and just dove in. The pressure that weighed on us to make a new start made us even stronger together. “Its you and me against the world babe”-Scotty
What made you choose the Rocky Mountains and Wild Basin Lodge to host your wedding?
The fact that we have made our home here! We love the mountains and we always knew we wanted our families and friends to enough them too. Scotty and I make it a point to escape the city a couple of times a year to remember why we came here! The beauty of the mountains is so calming and can make anything better!
We had 4 venues on our list to check out and Wild Basin was the first. The moment we saw the ceremony site we knew we had found the place. We even went to the other venues and weren’t impressed because we had already found the on!
Did you enjoy wedding planning? Favorite parts.. Less than favorite parts?
Yes and no. We were engaged for 2 years so I could finish school. So the first year we didn’t really plan too much.  A year and a half out was when I booked Wild Basin. For the most part it went smoothly. The least favorite parts would be the costs (holy cow) and that my family was in TX. That made it hard to be away from them! Planning was a little harder a lone, but our families did an amazing job helping us out so far away! Favorite parts- all the cute items like “Future Mrs. McNabb” shirt and items that were engraved with my new last name on them!

Tell me a little about your exciting honeymoon that is coming this winter???

Oh man I can not tell you how excited we are! We both love travel but haven’t done much since moving to CO, just the trips to TX. I have never been out of the country Scotty has been to Ireland (lucky). We are going to Rome, Florence, Venice, Como, and Milan in Italy and then to Paris France!!!!! Its a 2 week trip in December and its close to Christmas time which means Christmas lights everywhere! I can not wait. We will be in Paris on Christmas Eve! Now that the wedding planning is over I am obsessively looking at Pinterest for European travel tips.
