Kelley and Doug traveled to Colorado form New York City (how awesome is that??) to celebrate their wedding day at Wild Basin Lodge surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was a magical day to say the least… Continue reading
Wild Basin Lodge is a beautiful venue for a wedding. It is nestled in the Rocky Mountains and sits right next to the Saint Vrain River. It’s surrounded by lush forest and has a stunning view of Mount Meeker. They have two breathtaking ceremony options… One is in a meadow and the other an amphitheater by the river. Each is gorgeous in its own way!
Madison and Shawn chose to say their i do’s in the lovely meadow surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a beautiful sunny spring day. Continue reading
Everyone tells you the time will just fly right by, but I wasn’t quite prepared for it. This year swept by me like a gust of wind. I could not have imagined a more precious little girl. She has changed my world and even though it has only been a year I almost can’t remember what life is like without her. She made me a mom and it is a role I play with tremendous joy. Continue reading
Best of 2016
2016 was a wonderful year. It was my best year yet! For many reasons, but most of all because I became a mom in the beginning of this lovely year. It was an interesting wedding season for sure… One because it was pretty hard to be away from my little lady and also because pumping at weddings was one thing I was stressing about before my season even started. Oh the many joys of a nursing wedding photographer. BUT I worried for nothing! All of my couples were so genuine and understanding! I really do have the greatest clients!! Continue reading
Best Year Yet
I have had quite an amazing handful of years… I married my high school in 2012 [dream come true]. I was then able to visit 15 countries over 4 separate trips in the following few years. This was truly magical and such a dream! I love gallivanting through cobblestone streets while eating and drinking the most delectable items I had ever tasted! Each year just seemed to get better and better…. Continue reading
I know that I have been a bit absent from blogging these past months and I apologize! I hope to change that in the near future, but I did want to share something with you today that has been weighing on my heart lately. It’s something that most people already know and probably struggle with as well, but also something that tends to be lost in the back of our minds as we become encompassed in the daily grind of everyday life. It is something that is simple yet complex and is too often forgotten. Continue reading
I LOVE fall! It is my favorite time of year. The chilly weather gets me so excited about all of the festive times that are soon to come! So, of course I was over the moon that my amazing photographer father was able to take some family photos for us during Adeline’s first fall season!
We met at a reservoir near our home and literally took these photos right on the side of the road. This park is BEAUTIFUL and during the fall it’s simply magical!! Continue reading
I love my time when I first arrive at a wedding. Walking into the room where the bride is getting ready with her closest friends and families… There is so much laughter and joy in the air and it always smells absolutely incredible!
The details on Brooke’s dress was stunning! AND she wore Toms! The only shoes I own (besides one pair of boots) are Toms… SO, this was pretty exciting for me! Continue reading
I can’t recall the exact moment I met Julia and Ernest, but… I am so glad that I did! I do remember my first few times getting together with Julia. We talked for hours and we hardly knew each other. From there a friendship grew that I am incredibly thankful for. She loves without reserve and has a childlike sense of adventure that I admire greatly. Ernest is genuine and quite funny. He is also serious and determined. Together they have become two very fearless entrepreneurs! Continue reading
A tribe is defined as :
a social division in a traditional society consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture and dialect, typically having a recognized leader.
I have a new group of mama friends and we call ourselves the MMC Tribe. We are all around the same age, are what you might call crunchy moms, and have bonded over the new tiny humans that we have all recently created! Creating connections with other human beings is one of the greatest things we will do in this life. To bond with like-minded individuals is simply amazing. A true blessing in a world of chaos. The Wonderful World of Food
Adeline turned 6 months on Saturday! Oh my! Here I am crying again! This whole being a mom thing has turned me into quite a hot mess! Anyways, we planned to introduce her to the wonderful world of food once she turned 6 months old and I have been counting down the days! I had done a tone of research and asked other mamas and decided that we would wait until 6 months for a number of reasons and we have decided to do a modified form of Baby Led Weaning. Adeline had been showing signs of being interested in food for a few weeks… She would quite literally pull my plate of food towards herself while sitting on my lap during mealtimes! It is fun to watch her be so interested in something. Hey eyes get so wide! If only we could know what babies think! Continue reading
The world we live in is crumbling down around us! It has been one tragedy after another it seems lately. I know that has a lot to do with social media as it is more in our faces and constantly being streamed in our news feeds, but it doesn’t make it any less true. Instead of banning together we are tearing each other apart. Innocent people are being killed, those responsible for keeping us safe are being gunned down in the streets, a child dies at Disney World… “The happiest place on earth”. My heart breaks for the world. Even more so my heart breaks for lack of community I have witnessed in these past weeks. When we are going through hard times having others there to support us and show empathy can make all the difference. This seems to be lacking in today’s culture. We’ve grown accustomed to sitting behind a computer screen spewing out our opinions and feelings. With little to no thought of how they might effect another. People say the cruelest of things on social media. Things I’m sure they would never be so quick to say to anothers face. Continue reading
