For about the last year or so I have had the desire to kick my blog into full gear… If you remember in my recent goals + dreams post, it was one of my goals for 2015!! At first I wasn’t really sure about how to go about doing that. I have done a ton of research and many hours of reading and searching for what it is that makes a blog catch on. I am by no means an expert on this at the moment and as I begin this new journey in my business I am sure there will be road bumps! However, you have start somewhere and I am starting now! It is my hope to start with purposeful blogging! Meaning, I don’t want to just ramble about random things… I am going to lay out a plan and schedule and be intentional about blogging!! I am really excited about this as it is my dream to share my art with the world as well helpful information that I have come across over the last 10 years in this industry.
Celebrate love day!!
It is true that Valentines Day can be cheesy and much more about material items than it should be… In my opinion it is a bit sad that there needs to be a day set aside that is devoted to showing your special someone that you care about them. I think that should be a priority for 365 days, not just one. However, I will admit that it does feel rather nice to get a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates and have an excuse to an enjoy a nice romantic evening at a lovely restaurant.
I think that too often we get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of our every day lives and can lose sight of what truly matters. People and the relationships we have with them are what matter… How we impact and effect others is the legacy we will leave. It is so important not neglect the people in our lives because life is far too short and precious and it can be gone in a split second. We shouldn’t have regrets or ‘I wish I would have’s’ when it comes to how we treat the people in our lives. Sometimes we chalk it up to the fact that they will always be there or that there is tomorrow to work it out and show them how much we care…
I was thrilled when Abby reached out to me to do a mini session with her and her husband at the Cherry Creek Reservoir!
I met Abby at The Grove, a young adults ministry at my church. When we first started saying “hello” she was always so kind and genuine. After awhile our conversations grew longer and I knew I was going to like this girl! She has a true heart for others and is always smiling! The joy in others can truly be a contagious thing… That’s how it is with Abby – she is always laughing and smiling and you can’t help but feel more joyful when you are around her!
I scouted out a spot at the Cherry Creek Reservoir that I thought would be nice for their session. I loved the light coming in from behind the trees and the tall wispy grass… I love shooting in new spots and looking for that ‘perfect’ location. It’s like a treasure hunt!
raw food reset
I absolutely love food! It can be quite a weakness for me… I love chips and guacamole, breakfast tacos from Snoozes, banana and Nutella crepes, a nice juicy cheeseburger.. this list can go on and on… And don’t even get me started on sweets! I love everything sweet. My husbands like to laugh and joke around that I always have something sweet in my purse. However, this month I am making a change! While I do want enjoy all kinds of food – I also want to take care of my body and treat is as the vessel that is going to physically carry me through the rest of my life! Today is day one of a twenty one day raw food reset cleanse that I am doing. I am very excited about this and cannot wait to see how amazing I feel at the end of the twenty one days!
